Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Oliver! Sticking with this years book theme, he has been named after Oliver Twist; a young, good-hearted, and kind--but mistreated--orphan from a Charles Dickens novel. He is currently located near Plant City, FL.
He is a friendly and quiet 2 year old boy from Florida who recently came into the rescue when we saved him with just hours of notice from being put down! We are happy that Oliver is safe now, will no longer be mistreated, and we can help him find his forever home!
Oliver was living outside, but seems to be house trained. He spent most of his time following his owner around all day while she worked outside, and got used to being near his people all day.
His current fosters report that he is very well mannered, enjoys laying by their feet, and chewing on his antler. Oliver walks nicely on a leash and responds well to corrections. Although very sweet, he can be a bit stubborn and needs someone who can work with him on learning basic commands.
Oliver is sensitive, and will benefit from being given time to adjust to new things. He is used to living around other dogs, but will need slow introductions. We think he will do ok with another female dog.
The perfect home for him would be with someone that is home a lot and has time and attention to give him.
Oliver is really mellow, but can be a howler! We've also heard that he likes relaxing to both classical and reggae music!
DC Dogo’s is a breed specific rescue dedicated to saving Dogo Argentino’s.
Before applying/inquiring please do your research on the Dogo breed, so that you better understand the breed in which you are applying for. Thanks!
