My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Franklin is one of those one-in-a-million dogs who needs a one-in-a-million home. This gorgeous boy loves to be held and smooshed in between long walks out in the fields. This 1 1/2 year old Lab/Boxer-ish mix needs a very experienced person who can guide him on learning how to be a dog. When he came to us, he didn't know any commands or how to properly behave. We have been working hard on teaching him how to interact with other dogs and walk on the leash. Franky has made so much progress! However he still needs someone to help him learn, someone who knows how to train an incredibly intelligent dog who isn't always the best at focusing. He shouldn't be with cats due to his prey drive but could live with a dog who is confident and mellow and doesn't start anything with him. He adores people and is completely tolerant of any and all handling, no matter what you want to put him through! Franklin is neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, flea treated, and microchipped. Interested adopters can fill out an application by clicking "ONLINE APPLICATION" here: https://secondchanceas.org/adoption-application

We do not ask for set adoption fees but instead ask for an adoption donation based on the costs of providing the dog with basic medical care (spay/neuter, vaccines, etc.), normally $150-200 for a dog. All adoption donations go 100% toward the care of our wonderful animals!
