Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hickory is an all around amazing pup. Not only is he adorable with an incredibly soft coat, but he is the perfect pup! He is full of energy and likes to chase balls, and he absolutely loves to play with other dogs. He has a ton of energy so he will definitely need an owner who will play with him and give him lots of attention, and his ideal home will have another dog(s) for him to play with. He is about 1 yr old and 42#.
Hickory made a list for his forever family, of all the things he loves… other dogs, humans, snuggling on the couch with his head on his human’s chest, car rides, food, getting other dogs to chase him (though they can’t catch him because he’s SUPER fast), his jolly ball, and jumping up and giving hugs. He says he doesn’t necessarily love cats, but he doesn’t mind them and doesn’t bother his foster family’s cat. Hickory hasn’t met a stranger, and has been happy with anyone who gives him attention. He hasn’t been around very young children, but foster mom thinks he’d be fine with them, though may knock down a little one in excitement.
Hickory is house trained, leash trained and crate trained. He stays in his crate during the day when his family is at work, and enjoys having toys in his kennel to play with. He has mastered “sit” and is pretty good at “shake”. He has a pretty good recall when he’s out playing… he wouldn’t want to miss an opportunity to be by his human. He’s a young, smart boy, so would love his family to continue to teach him new things to keep his body and his mind exercised.
Hickory is just a happy boy! Foster mom says he is absolutely an all-around great kiddo! He is neutered, up to date on his immunizations, microchipped, heartworm negative and on monthly preventatives. He’s being fostered in southeast Iowa, and potential adopters must be able to travel to his foster home to meet him.
