My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Lilly is a beautiful, adult brindle mix who has a lot going for her! As her name implies, she is a sweet and gentle girl. Although she isn`t one to shower strangers with kisses and may even seem somewhat disinterested when she first meets you, she is very loyal and devoted to people she knows. Once she gets to know you, she will show her love and affection! She likes to be where you are but is not clingy.

Inside the home, Sweet Lilly has good manners. She will tell you when she needs to go out, she stays off the furniture, and she does not need to be crated when you leave the house. She would like to be the one and only dog in her home, but she does not act up if she is out and about and sees another dog; she just doesn`t like other dogs in her face. Sweet Lilly is not a whiner or a barker.

As far as energy level, Sweet Lilly is calm and laid back but still enjoys a romp in the yard and absolutely lives for playing ball. She loves being outside (especially if someone is throwing a ball for her!), and she prefers yard time to going for walks, so a fenced yard is a requirement for her. Besides playing ball, Lilly enjoys car rides and travels well.

A quieter, adults-only home would suit Sweet Lilly best. Loud noises and sudden movements tend to startle her, especially if she is asleep.

Sweet Lilly has a very supportive foster mom who is ready to help her transition to her forever home in any way she can! Sweet Lilly also comes with free training sessions to make sure she thrives in her forever home.

Please fill out a no-obligation application if you`re interested in getting to know Sweet Lilly better.

More about this rescue

We are in need of Foster Homes for our homeless animals!!! Can you help?

What is a Foster Home?
A foster home takes in one of our homeless animals rather than boarding them at the kennel and cares for it until we find a permanent loving home. Almost Home Foundation pays for the all animal's food and medical expenses. The foster home learns the animal's temperament and behaviors. The foster home learns if they get along with other animals. The foster home provides insights on the animals that helps Almost Home Foundation look for the right home for the animal.

Please help!! Just fill out this form and we will contact you or call 630-582-3738 and leave a message letting us know that you are interested in fostering!

We are an all-volunteer, registered, not-for-profit 501c3 animal rescue group. Our mission is to save adoptable dogs and cats from being destroyed by finding permanent, loving homes. For details, visit us online at www.almosthomefoundation.org.

Almost Home Foundation is always looking for volunteers to handle dogs at adoption shows, set up adoption shows, write for the newsletter, photograph events, or foster animals. For a list of opportunities, visit online at www.volunteermatch.org
or www.almosthomefoundation.org.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are a Rescue not a Shelter. This simply means we do not own a building where we house animals. We look for loving foster homes that will give temporary care and love on the animal’s journey to a permanent, loving home. When a foster home is not available, we will board the animal at a boarding kennel.

Our 5-year goal is to have a shelter. This is an aggressive goal that will take many donations and memberships. We will strive for this goal with a great team of volunteers and help from people like you! Please become a member, become a sponsor or make a donation.

Our animals are found strayed and brought in from the police. After being held for 7 days, we evaluate the temperament of the animal and determine if the animal is suitable to be a pet. On rare occasion, we will also rescue animals that are in desperate situations where the rescue makes the difference between life and death. We do not accept Owner Give-ups.
