About
Meet Care Bear 6166
Sometimes it takes someone who has experienced hard times and heartless treatment from the hand of a human to show all of us how to forgive and forget. Care Bear arrived at the Humane Society suffering from neglect and lack of even the most basic of needs: food, shelter, medical attention and companionship. His fur is a still a little bit thin in spots but thanks to the kindness and compassionate nurturing of the Humane Society volunteers, Care Bear wakes up every morning (in the clouds of Care-a-Lot) with clean living quarters, a full tummy and quality medical support. He has chosen not to live in his past, but to share smiles with everyone while he enjoys a romp in the bark park and has fittingly earned his nickname of “a Care Bear marshmallow” bestowed by the HS volunteers that are witnessing his transformation. He is bulldozer strong but has a relaxed, easy-going, it’s-time-to-enjoy-life personality. Of all the Care Bear tribe, he wishes to be called Wish Bear as he looks forward to sharing his life with a loving human. He would be best as the only pet in the family.

Our adoption fee is $70 which covers all the basic shots and worming medications appropriate for the age of the animal as well as the required spaying or neutering. If the animal is too young to be neutered, a voucher is presented to the adopter to cover the process at a participating vet. Rabies shots are not included. We have an application process in which we ask basic questions to insure that you and the chosen pet are a good match for each other. We do require a vet reference. If you have been arrested and convicted of animal abuse or neglect, you will not be considered for adoption. If you do not own your home, a letter from the landlord giving permission to have a pet is required. Local ordinances regarding maximum numbers of pets shall be observed. All other household pets must be spayed or neutered. All pets are adopted "as is." Should the pet not work out after you take it home, we ask that you return the animal to us for re-homing. We want each animal to find a loving forever home and reserve the right to refuse any application should the individual needs of the chosen animal not be in that dog's best interest. Contact our office for inquiries and applications.
