My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I'm a lover! I love people. Getting and giving attention and affection is my specialty. I'm great with other dogs! I love the outdoors! I was born to sunbathe and play in the dirt. I have my own special way of walking since I have two legs. I can outrun you if i wanted to but I'd much rather have you love on me. Majestic, grace, resilience, affectionate, calm, happy, loving, survivor, and feisty are just some of my descriptors. I am paralyzed from the waist down so I have no control over my bladder or bowels and I dribble a bit when I walk. It's been a while since I tried a diaper, since I love being outside so much, it hasn't been necessary. I was rescued from Saudi Arabia where doctors believed I was hit by a car which left me paralyzed. I was left in the streets to fend for myself while dragging my legs until some kind people took me in and helped me heal. I am now ready to find my forever home where people will love me for how affectionate I am and not judge me based on how I look. I had a rough go of it but my resilience and will to live shine brighter than any diamond or star in the sky. Would you like to be greeted by my warm smile and affectionate gaze everyday when you come home? Email Mayday today!

*As someone who knows Tinkerbell and has witnessed her love in person, I get goosebumps just thinking about how amazing this girl is. Nothing would bring me more happiness than seeing her in a home of her own. She has traveled from across the globe, been through hell and back, and it still amazes me every day how sweet she is. No other creature on this planet gives love like that of a rescued dog.*

More about this rescue

Mayday Pit Bull Rescue & Advocacy is an established, entirely volunteer run, 501c3 nonprofit. We focus on dogs with extreme medical, behavioral and special needs.  We are devoted to rescuing, rehabilitating and securing placement for pit bull and pit bull mixes into responsible, permanent and loving homes. We partner with national animal welfare organizations to assist dogs from dog fighting, hoarding and other crisis/emergency situations.

We strive to educate the public about the pit bull breed in order to relieve suffering and prevent cruelty.

We advocate responsible pit bull ownership and educate the public about breed specific legislation.

Mayday Pit Bull Rescue & Advocacy is made up of a small group of volunteers based in Phoenix, Arizona, who are dedicated to improving the lives of pit bulls and re-establishing the breed as a beloved family pet.

We work directly with local Animal Care and Control shelters to rescue pit bulls from euthanasia with the goal of rehabilitation and permanent placement.
