My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

* COURTESY POST FOR THE TNR PROJECT TEAM MEMBER/TRAPPER:

Meet beautiful Moon! Moon loves people and will gladly curl up on your lap and watch a movie, study or sleep with you until you put her down. She loves to be pet and scratched behind her ears while you tell her a story about how you needed a cat so bad and then she came along!

Moon was dumped as a teenager with her sister, Star (also available) in a busy shopping center and left to scavenge for food, water and shelter. A team member with The TNR Project who frequented the shopping center knew these girls were not just born on the streets. She would have seen a mom with them. She immediately went home to get traps after questioning the shop owners to see who knew their story and how long they had been at the center. A couple of nice employees would put food out, but didn't know who to call and they didn't want them to be picked up, taken to the shelter and never get out. Our team member was immediately able to trap them since they were hungry and she took them in to foster & socialize until they were ready for a home. Thank to her, Moon is alive and healthy and ready for her new home!

Moon gets along with other cats who are docile and not alpha. She is goofy and loves to play. She will entertain you with her antics once she is used to your home and loves toys. She isn't used to dogs and we haven't pushed it since the parking lot she was in was frequented by hungry coyotes. We would love to see her in a home with another kitty or with someone who isn't gone for very long hours on a daily basis.

FACT: 80-90% of all cats that enter the shelter system are from the streets. They are born there, dumped there, left behind when people move on and it is no life for them. Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) is their saving grace. Our team members educate the community on resources and help for street cats both stray & feral and where to find help. We TNR just over 6,000 cats yearly by volunteering our time to save lives. We are passionate that TNR is what will take our shelters to no-kill status. If we fix what's on the streets, foster & adopt those who are able, there's nothing left to enter the shelters for euthanasia except the cats born in people's homes.

Please help us to get Moon into a wonderful home so we may go save other litters and adults from suffering and dying on the streets or entering the shelters. Thank you for looking at Moon!
