My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rosie is the sweetest girl in the whole world! Her favorite thing is to snuggle with people for a nap. She also loves to run and play fetch, and she’s a little goofy. She is a little shy at first, but once she warms up, she wants to be with you all the time! In fact, she would do really well in a home where people are around most of the time. She will require a lot of love and attention, but she will give it right back. She wouldn't be a good fit for those who work long hours away from home. Rosie is about three years old. She is a black lab mix, on the smaller side at about 40-45 lbs. You can't see it in the photos very well, but she does have a lot of white hairs dispersed in her coat, so we thing she might have some pointer or something else in her. She was initially found injured in a rural AZ area and her front right leg had to be amputated. It is fully healed, and if you watch the video, you can see that it doesn't slow her down. She is quick! She walks well on a harness leash, but she can’t go far at one time (probably about 0.5 mile and then needs a break). Despite her amputation, she can still jump up on furniture, and she thinks she is a lap dog! She has a lot of energy, but she shouldn't have so much exercise that it stresses her body, and it will be important that she stays slim to reduce stress on her joints. She is good with children and with other dogs, but she can be dog selective and does not do well when strange dogs get in her face. She would do well as an only dog, or with another dog that has a submissive personality. She also may be better with older children, rather than little ones. Rosie is housebroken, spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $175. If you are interested in meeting her, please email prussian.snailhound@gmail.com or text your email address to 602-295-4518 and let us know that you are interested in filling out an application on Rosie.
