My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Taz. I came to RCHS needing to lose some weight, and was put on a diet that I do actually enjoy! My foster Mom thinks I look pretty good now, and we’ve established a stable routine to keep me satisfied. I’m a rather tall and handsome fellow, at about 5 years young, so I’m gonna blame my belly on my large frame versus my love for food. But, I think you’ll find both are true!

I do love to cuddle, I’m a frequent talker, my tail wags often and I love head, cheek, & back scratches. I’m always interested in everybody’s food (cat, dog, & human) and I even enjoy being brushed. I’ve also done very well with a dog in the home; it took some time, but I've adjusted to her well, although she’s very old, so I’m not sure a young energetic dog would be an ideal match for me.

Because I’m at an established age, I can be rather set in my ways. The truth is, I do have a tendency to become over-stimulated, therefore, my foster mom thinks that the best home for me would be with someone who understands cat love languages and doesn’t have small children. My foster mom has learned I use love bites and love swats only when I need something (like food or attention) or when I want you to stop doing something (like petting me); while none have been overtly aggressive, I’d feel just awful scaring any of our little humans. I really need a patient and understanding human who won’t shame me for being me! I have an awful lot of love to give, I just need a chance to share it with someone!

All kitties go to their new homes spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. The adult cat adoption fee is $60. If you are interested in adopting this cat, please fill out an application here: bit.ly/Cat-Adopt-App.
