My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bennett’s a wacky little 5 year-old short stack! He is a happy, enthusiastic low-rider on the Medium side, with a big body and short legs. And he's always smiling!

We rescued Bennett from high-kill Downey shelter. He'd been abandoned in a house by his family. He injured his ACL so we got it fixed surgically. He has had a careful recovery, with more activity each week and is now good as new and ready for a forever family.

Bennet is in a foster home while he awaits his forever family. His fosters report that he is a very social and affectionate young man, happily coexisting with two feline roommates. He is housetrained, sleeps on his dog bed, and loves greeting neighborhood dogs on his walks. Most days you will find him hanging out on his bed or the couch while his mom and dad work, or lounging outdoors in the shady backyard. Bennett would do well in a first-floor apartment or condo, or a house has a small, grassy backyard great for poking around.

As he nears the end of his recovery, Bennett will be ready for a forever home. If you know someone who can be Bennett’s forever family – shady backyard and cats encouraged!
