Here's what the humans have to say about me:
ody has come a long way since intake. He was, at first, extremely shut down. Touching him, getting him leashed for a walk, etc was very difficult. He never bit or put up a fight, but was very scared and just wanted to hide in his crate. But now he is a totally different dog. With affordable anti-anxiety medicine and exercise, he’s turned into the most amazing cuddle-bug ever! He loves other dogs and wants to love other people but can still be hand shy of strangers. However, he usually warms up within about twenty minutes of a friend or two coming over!
Look at these beautiful photos! Kody is a Labrador retriever mixed with what we believe may be some Great Pyrenees. He is over 65lbs and very lean. His fur is the softest you’ll ever feel! His foster and her family just loves how soft he is. His foster says, “Kody is such an amazing dog. He has overcome so much in his short life. You can tell how smart he is just by looking at him. He sits on command for his food, leash, and just if you want him to! Kody’s FAVORITE thing in world is going to the dog park and running and running and running with his buddies! He is very well behaved in the house and never chews. He only has an accident on occasion.”
Kody would be best suited in a home with another dog and a fenced in yard to play in. His foster says that he loves to be outside and patrolling his fence— supervised, of course! He definitely needs dog buddies to play with. Due to his anxiety, we believe Kody would do best with children over the age of 12 that understand boundaries and how to behave around a dog. Kody is good with cats as well.
This boy is 90% housetrained, loves his crate(although does whine a bit before bed), and is non-destructive. He has never chewed anything in the house! He should be on low-level anxiety pills for a while as he gets used to his new home and would benefit from daily exercise, so an active home is preferred. Kody is up to date on shots, microchipped, neutered, and on heartworm/flea/tick preventatives.
If you think you are the perfect home for Kody, please apply! His adoption fee is $125. You can apply here: https://forms.gle/ipUFeT4hVQQRPxFi9
