My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

* INDEPENDENT POST FOR ONE OF OUR VOLUNTEER TRAPPER/RESCUER/FOSTERS:

Thank you to everyone who has shown great interest in our Layla! She has now been pre-adopted and will begin her trial with her new family. Please take a look at our other wonderful kitties or consider being on our Kitten Waitlist! We have a lot of kittens who are up-and-coming. Thank you!

Meet beautiful polydactyl Layla!!

Layla was rescued by a wonderful woman who began feeding her because she was pregnant, starving and about to give birth on the streets. She contacted us for help and we helped her trap, crate train and foster this beautiful girl. Not a few days later, she gave birth to 6 beautiful kittens! She was warm, dry, well fed and happy! She is almost done with her litter and 4 kittens have been pre-adopted. There are 2 remaining.

Layla is a beautiful soul through and through! She is wonderful with the foster's children and the daughter carries her all over while the kittens are playing in a separate room to give her a break. She is not fond of dogs (remember, the streets are filled with coyotes) and she doesn't like other cats. This could change once she is weaned from the kittens and has a breather. She's been a fantastic mama!

Layla is a Tortico which is a blend of Calico & Tortoiseshell markings. She is a polydactyl on the front. Her personality is very loving and sweet. We are posting her right now to pre-adopt. Once her babies are weaned by the end of the month, we will have her spayed and we can plan an adoption date.

As of right now, we are taking adoption applications on her. If you are looking to offer a wonderful home to a street cat in need, here's your girl. You won't be disappointed and you are helping us to save street cats which are usually deemed "a lost cause".

Layla will be:
* Spayed
* Vaccinated
* Microchipped
* Combo Tested FELV/FIV
* Flea Treated
* Dewormed

She is litterbox trained and never misses!

FACT: 80-90% of all shelter cats come directly from the streets and 9/10 are euthanized. By supporting our local TNR (Trap.Neuter.Return) efforts, you are helping us take the fight to the streets by fixing colonies of cats and fostering/adopting out the babies & teenagers once social & healthy. TNR is the single most heroic thing you can do for cats...just fixing one prevents over 100 births. Please learn TNR or support the ones that have and are actively working the streets with the communities.

Thank you for considering Layla!
