WRS has a Monday morning mystery on our hands; we are completely confused and perplexed as to why Pauly hasn't found his forever family yet! Pauly is a sweet, precious 3-4 yo male who has been successfully treated for heartworms (the dark patch on his back is from where they shaved his hair for his injections). Pauly is a gentle, submissive boy who loves to play with other dogs and enjoys getting attention from people. Pauly is super excited to be done with heartworm treatment and off exercise restrictions! Pauly loves to run, play, explore, and have fun! Pauly's life before rescue wasn't so good; in addition to contracting heartworms, Pauly's collar was so tight around his neck that the hair underneath the collar is still discolored; you can see that at :08 in the video. Check out that beautiful big smile on Pauly's face; what a great way to start the weekend! Pauly is also smiling because he has one more week to go in his heartworm treatment restrictions. Pauly is feeling very good and is making excellent progress, both physically and emotionally. It was obvious, upon intake, that Pauly had not experienced the greatest of lives. However, he's quickly learned to trust and bond with the people who have been taking care of him, feeding him, and showing him positive attention. Pauly is a happy boy! No matter how many photos we take of Pauly, we can't capture how stunningly handsome this boy is! Pauly came to WRS a few weeks ago and his sweet, loving, puppyish personality is starting to shine through now that he feels safe and secure. Heartworm positive, Pauly will be neutered this week and then start his heartworm treatment once he's recovered from surgery. Pauly should be ready for a foster or forever home in early April. After 10 days with WRS, Pauly is doing really well. Now that he's realizing he's safe, warm, and well fed, Pauly is relaxing and our volunteers are starting to see his playful personality come out. Pauly has started his medications in preparation for his heartworm treatment, which should start in about 3 weeks. He will also be neutered very soon. While Pauly won't be ready for adoption for 6-7 weeks, we are accepting applications for him at www.weimrescue.com. Pauly is about 3 years old.

Please welcome Pauly (named for one of WRS's most dedicated Weim Wagon volunteers) to WRS. Pauly is a young adult male and very sweet. He will be seen by a vet today and we're hoping and praying he's heartworm negative. He does need to be neutered. We'll post updates when we get more information.
