Frema is a previously adopted hound from Hounds Haven. She was adopted with her Sister Maggie, who has since been transferred to a wonderful rescue in MN to continue her journey onto a new forever home!! Before parting ways Frema's Dad had the below wonderful things to say about her!!
Frema is definitely a Basset Hound through and through. Whether you call it being stubborn, lazy, or obstinate she has a personalty that I wouldn't trade for anything. She does not need the affection that Maggie wants, but will take it when she wants (or when she is jealous). She is a very good dog with a lot of character. She is a very complex in the best way possible and has simple needs. Everyone who meets her is quick to love her personality. Loving her is easy and she will provide endless hours of entertainment. It is widely speculated that she is a cat in a dog's body. Don't let her act fool you, she is very bright and always has a plan. While she pretends to be independent, she needs some caring leaders to assure her that she is loved. If she is not getting enough she'll let you know by becoming mischeivious. Her current owner is very attached to her wit, charm, and affection, Frema is completely UTD on vaccinations, HW tested negative and on monthly preventative and altered. **UPDATE ON FREMA**
While Frema is in temporary care we noticed the poor girl itching and eyes watering and Frema has been diagnosed with a mild allergy problem. Her allergies are most lokely seasonal and she will need a low cost allergy relief in the spring throguh summer months. This medication is not over $20 a month!!

Please remember Every animal for adoption through an Hounds Haven is fully vetted for their age and only needs routine preventive care. Dogs older then 6 months of age are heartworm tested! All dogs are kept on heartworm preventative. Every hound is vaccinated (age appropriate), and de-wormed, in addition to being spayed/neutered.
We are asking for interested parties to fill out a pre-adoption questionnaire prior to us lining up an appointment for them to see the hound(s) at the hound(s)' home.
