Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Pearl is around 3 years old and we believe to be a Black and Tan Coonhound Mix. But, we cannot guarantee any breeds of our dogs. She is a tall and athletic girl, who weighs 60 pounds! Some of you may remember when we saved her. She was a medical case, who badly needed help. She couldn't put any weight on her back leg and we figured she would need it amputated. We initially discovered she had been shot with a gun in the back leg. After a visit to our vet and then a specialist, we determined she did not need an amputation and it healed on its own! The bone has healed itself and the infection from the gunshot is gone. She is still recovering from Heartworm treatment and because of this has not gained the strength that is needed in those muscles yet. So, she is a bit stiff and still has a slight limp. We are hopeful once she is off crate rest she will bounce right back!
Pearl's foster describes her as, “Pearl loves the sunshine and getting her limited calm time outside with people. She has gotten along great with our other dogs (80 & 8 lbs) and is very good with our cat. She took a day or two to get used to it, but she now absolutely loves her crate and sleeps in it all day while she recovers. She took a few days, but she is definitely coming out of her shell and is all wiggles and happy to see us now (which is sad bc she needs to stay calm due to her treatment). She tried to get the zoomies for the first time this morning and invited me to play with her which was so rewarding, and I felt so bad having to tell her to stop. I know she is just so excited to have her leg feeling better for the first time in so long.”
Pearl has captured everyone's heart that she has met.. She is great with other dogs, cats and kids. Men make her nervous at first, but with some patience and love she comes around. She is spayed, UTD on vaccines, dewormed and microchipped. She is located in Auburn, AL and her adoption fee is $125. The application is here: https://forms.gle/ipUFeT4hVQQRPxFi9
