Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chirri was born into a tough situation...in a house of hoarded dogs, she battled to survive and get her needs met. Her little spirit is a testament to the inherent goodness of dogs.
The family who owned the house were in way over their heads and called for help. With around 30 dogs in the house, it was way out of control in every way and a scary environment even for a human. Just before the family was evicted, the house was cleared of dogs, all being sent to numerous rescues. Or so we thought. Without an exact count on how many they started with, no one knew one was left behind. 3 weeks after the house was boarded up, contractors entered the house on behalf of the landlord and one saw a dog skitter by. Little Chirri was found hiding in a torn mattress and finally rescued from the dark filthy house.
She was terrified, but it didn't take long before she felt safe and came out of her shell.
Only a couple of weeks later, she is a little goofy sprite of a girl. She loves to play, but also to chill and cuddle. She loves other dogs and loves to be near her humans. She is nervous around new people and needs people to go slowly with her at first. All those days in the dark alone made her a little cautious. But she warms up fast. She loves toys, chewing on bones and playing. She is working on house training, but coming from a house where no one cared where she pottied make that slow going because the new rules are confusing. But she's getting there. She likes to please, and is anxious to figure it all out. She doesn't mind being in a crate but likes it more if she's in there with a buddy to curl up with. She does great with older kids, small kids who don't understand that she's just a tiny girl make her a bit nervous. She will do best in a home with another dog where she is not left alone.
