Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Frida is a sweet, timid, loving little lady who has had humans let her down prior to entering rescue.
Frida and her brother, Diego, were dumped in a southeast Austin neighborhood where they lived mostly in a bush on the side of the road for two weeks. The neighbors kept them fed but were unable to catch them. They called our trap team who went out and caught them both in an afternoon.
Frida was hand captured by a rescuer and was pretty mad at the net she found herself in. But when she was reunited with her brother already in the rescuers car, she immediately started to relax. It has taken her a bit of time to adjust to her new surroundings but she is now in love with life in a family again. It will be hard for her to move into a new place and leave the safety of his foster mom, feeling a bit abandoned again. But she is fully capable of forming new attachments...she will just need a bit of time and patience.
Her foster mom says she is a total cuddle bug. She is still a bit wary of being picked up, but jumps up on the couch to cuddle and ask for attention and loves. She loves going outside and has a doggie door to let herself out.She kisses her mom's feet when she follows her to the kitchen for dinner. And she chirps for attention like a sweet little bird.
She is around a 1-1.5 years old, about 9 lbs, and is working on house-training. She gets along great with other dogs and we think she will do fine with cats as he wasn't bothering any of the cats on the street with her. She is crate trained, but prefers to be with her humans. She likes to play, but is medium energy level and doesn't require an immense amount of activity. As long as you have lots of love to give and will let her share your life with you, Frida will be a happy girl.
