Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My Story ...
Hi, my name is Minnie. I am a beautiful Lab Mix girl with a healthy black coat and gorgeous golden eyes. I am very sweet and like everyone I meet. I even like other dogs! I am you’re typical young Lab, so I will need to have appropriate chew toys and treats as well as supervised free time. I would probably do well to be kenneled while you’re away until I learn about what I can and can not chew on. I would do best with regular exercise and a fenced yard, maybe even another doggie buddy to play with so I don’t get bored. I’m sure I could learn to ride in a boat or golf cart, camping and swimming would be a great adventure for me. But please hurry, I don’t have much time left here at the shelter…..
About Me...
* Approximately 1 year old
* Weighs ~ 50 lbs
* Minnie will have her heartworm and vaccinations updated prior to placement
* Minnie has already been spayed and is ready to go her furever home.
* Shelter hold is up on 08/25/09
Minnie’s adoption donation fee is only $85. This low fee covers all her vetting expenses.
Cherokee Shelter animals have only 5 days to find a home or rescue group. The Humane Society of Cherokee County’s volunteers work to save as many animals as possible. The $85 adoption fee includes Rabies and DHPP vaccinations, spay or neuter, microchip, and heartworm test.
We are very rescue friendly and try to make it as pleasant as possible for rescue groups to save Cherokee Shelter animals. Please contact us via email at cherokeeshelter@gmail.com regarding rescue policies and pricing.
Because of the short time we have to place animals, and the lack of a veterinary clinic at the shelter, neither the Humane Society nor Cherokee County can guarantee the temperament or health of any animals made available for adoption. We will never knowingly place a dangerous or sick animal. It is impossible in the shelter environment to reliably test dogs with cats or small children. Sometimes the stressful environment may create fearful responses even with other dogs that would not occur in a normal home setting. All animals are not compatible with all families, and we reserve the right to refuse adoption when we think the placement may endanger either the pet or the family.
All rescued/adopted pets must be picked up the same day as their veterinary services. Otherwise boarding and additional payment arrangements must be made in advance.
The Cherokee County shelter is located in Gaffney, SC just a few minutes off I-85 and only about 20 miles northeast of Spartanburg, SC and about 50 miles southwest of Charlotte, NC.
