The lovable Roach arrived with a frozen, wounded tail and quickly visited the vet. An amputation was set for the next week. Thankfully, the antibiotics helped tremendously so the vet attempted to preserve more of the tail. Unfortunately infection reared its ugly head and the remaining tail was scheduled to be amputated the next week. But healing was taking place, so the surgery was cancelled. A re-check showed no reason to amputate. The sutures were removed, the half tail had healed up, so Roach was both dressing and collar free. For two days. Then he took matters into his own teeth and chewed the flesh off his remaining tail. Thankfully, a vet of a W3B alum was willing to get Roach in for his much needed amputation. The stump has finally, and all this boy needs to be officially available for adoption is a rabies vaccination. However, that can't happen until the government COVID-19 quarantine is lifted. Someone may opt to adopt him without his rabies vaccination given the circumstances. Roach tested negative for FIV/FeLV. He will be available for adoption for $60.
