Beautiful Gigi is available for adoption to the perfect home. Gigi was abandoned in a house for 6 weeks or longer, without any companionship and with food brought to her sporadically.
Her panic must have been severe, and that experience has left her with two residual issues - separation anxiety and manageable resource guarding, particularly food.
Gigi is a sweet, smart, affectionate and adventurous girl. She loves going on long hikes, is great in the car, loves cuddling on the couch, gets along with cats if they don't compete with her for her person, and loves other dogs. She will make someone a great companion, and a dog friend will make her life easier when alone, but her new owner must be able to manage the food guarding issue. If she isnt left alone she may be better as an only dog in the home but able to play with other dogs socially.
She is on an anxiety medication and that may have to continue for awhile, until she has settled into her new home and feels confident and secure.
Gigi needs a home with someone there almost all the time, going forward. She is crate trained but is a true hound when left alone, so shared walls are not an option. Her howl is quite loud. She is a Catahoula mix, about 4-6 years old, spayed, utd on vaccines, microchipped and beautiful. She weighs about 20 kg.
