Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi I’m Lucy an almost 1 year old border collie mix. I am super sweet and silly and LOVE to play with my owners. I also enjoy being outside and going for walks to see and smell the world. The thing is, I think people are scary and sometimes I take time to warm up, but luckily I am very food motivated!!
Lucy’s ideal people would be someone who is active, dog savvy and who has room for this dog to run and play. She needs an owner who is willing to put the work into training and working with her as she can be sensitive and show some fear aggression.
Lucy is good with dogs but can get protective of her owners at times so a savvy dog handler who can help guide and manage her is a MUST. Lucy is great with her foster sisters and loves to play but minds well also. We do think she would do best in a single dog home but that really depends on the other dogs personality. We are thinking that a friendly, confident dog that can help show Lucy that people are not scary would be fantastic.
Lucy is ALMOST 100% house trained but her person needs to be good about letting her out and set a routine. Lucy is also crate trained, rides well in the car, walks decent on leash (does pull some) but minds well and is not leash reactive (again her owner needs to set ground rules and GUIDE her). Lucy will definitely make someone happy but she NEEDS a strong handler and someone CONFIDENT.
Don’t let the pictures fool you, she is a larger dog! Not massive, but tall and lanky. She is UTD, Microchipped and ready for her home. If Lucy seems like a dog that you would like to include into your life, please fill out an adoption application
