Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Give Abbie a chance!! Sweet little Abbie is almost a year old April 22, weighs a little over 8 lbs, and is a Bichon poodle mix. Her former mom (a breeder) has terminal cancer and has been bedridden for months. Abbie didn't get too much attention. She came into rescue 3 weeks ago, was spayed, Heartworm/lyme tested, and updated on all vaccines. She also saw a cardiologist, as we suspected she may have a serious heart condition . Thankfully she did not! Abbie has what is called a benign flow murmur . Her heart is in great condition, and functioning well. When she is stressed, anxious, or nervous, the flow murmur presents...While calm, playing, sleeping, it is undetectable. No meds or treatment are needed. Soooo, Abbie has come along way since coming into rescue. She was very nervous, skittish, wouldn't eat or drink, nor would she engage with other dogs. She's still a bit skittish, and won't come when called, but she will stop and let you pick her up. Abbie now loves going outside, playing with the other dogs, eating and drinking well, playing with her toys, has very few "accidents". She likes being held, and cuddling at nite. Abbie definitely needs a fenced yard, she runs like the wind!! Also someone who is home 90% of the time(maybe retired?) who has the patience she needs to feel comfortable in her new home. She has never been around men or children( kids would make her nervous) is great with other small dogs, and would do best with another dog in the home, for her to follow, and show her the ropes. She is NOT leash trained, but we are "trying"! If you have a quiet household & believe you have the time and patience to help Abbie adjust to normal life, you must fill out our very simple application at mulligananimalrescue.com.....but only if you are truly interested. No out of state adoptions at this time..... Thank you!!
