My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet incredibly handsome, fluffy Aiden. Aiden is an 8-month old medium-hair orange tabby who is still learning to trust people. He and his two siblings were born in a garage, and while they were kept safe, they had very little human contact or socialization for the first 6 months of their lives. The first few weeks in their foster home were spent hiding underneath the blankets in their crate and hissing at the “hand that feeds them”. They did not play. They did not interact. And if you tried to pet them, they would allow it, but would look completely terrified in the process. They are not aggressive at all – just fearful.

Flash forward a couple of months, and Aiden is curious of his humans and loves getting treats and interacting with wand toys. He will often lay on his foster moms desk while she types furiously less than a foot away from him and takes long, boring conference calls. Sometimes he chimes in with his own meows. He is a very talkative fellow and has a variety of interesting vocalizations. He enjoys shenanigans with his brother Finn. He also really loves his sister Fiona, who is a more rare, female orange tabby.

CAUTION: Only experienced cat owners need apply! Aiden will need a calm home environment (no big dogs or small kiddos) and lots of love and patience to continue to improve and get the most enjoyment out of life. You will not be able to hold him or pet him right away… and he may never be a cuddle bug, but he is a precious boy who deserves a shot at a real home. Many adopters are looking for a cat based on what the cat can do for them (entertain, cuddle, emotional support, etc…). In this case, the right adopter is someone who is looking to make a difference in the life of a cat.

Aiden is fostered in Huntsville, AL. He is felv/fiv negative, up to date on vaccines, neutered, and microchipped. If you think you can offer him the rehabilitation that he needs, please fill out an application at forrescue.net. We would love to talk to you!
