Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet fierce little Fiona. Fiona is an 8-month old more rare female orange tabby who is still learning to trust people. Her and her two siblings were born in a garage, and while they were kept safe, they had very little human contact or socialization for the first 6 months of their lives. The first few weeks in their foster home were spent hiding underneath the blankets in their crate and hissing at the “hand that feeds them”. They did not play. They did not interact. And if you tried to pet them, they would allow it, but would look completely terrified in the process. They are not aggressive at all – just fearful.
Flash forward a couple of months, and Fiona is curious of her humans and loves getting treats and interacting with wand toys. She loves her brothers Aiden and Finn.
CAUTION: Only experienced cat owners need apply! Fiona will need a calm home environment (no big dogs or small kiddos) and lots of love and patience to continue to improve and get the most enjoyment out of life. You will not be able to hold her or pet her right away… and she may never be a cuddle bug, but she is a precious girl who deserves a shot at a real home. Many adopters are looking for a cat based on what the cat can do for them (entertain, cuddle, emotional support, etc…). In this case, the right adopter is someone who is looking to make a difference in the life of a cat.
Fiona is fostered in Huntsville, AL. She is felv/fiv negative, up to date on vaccines, spayed, and microchipped. If you think you can offer her the rehabilitation that she needs, please fill out an application at forrescue.net. We would love to talk to you!
