Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Miss Presley is a mini blue merle and a very special girl. She was rescued from a very bad man that she lived with for the first three years of her life. She was one of hundreds of dogs rescued who lived in deplorable conditions. Miss Presley had an infected uterus (pyometra) that led the rescuers to believe she was pregnant. Instead she was saved just in time from a painful death.
Presley first was fostered by a wonderful family in Alabama and enjoyed being with her foster friends who were mostly puppies. She came to us in March 2019. Unfortunately, she did not respond well to the change of home and struggled and was fearful for months until we finally got her the help he needed from a specialist vet. From her trauma she was diagnosed with PTSD and we have been treating her since.
Miss Presley is the sweetest, friendliest dog we have ever met. She is nice to all people and animals she comes in contact with. She is so gentle with our baby, so patient with our toddler, and greets females with an Aussie wiggle butt. From her experience though she is very fearful of men. I have taken care of her this whole year and only when I have food will she come near me. For that reason, we want Miss Presley to have the chance to live in a female only home. We think she would thrive, and her behaviorist vet agrees. She would require patience and love but would be so grateful. She just loves to eat and sleep in a comfortable place.
We have been leash training her, but she has not decided to potty on the leash yet. She will require a fenced yard to go outside. She would not do well being on a long line outside alone. She does love other dogs, and loves to play, but not too rough, she is an old soul in a young dog’s body. Her life has been long already. An overly dominant dog would not be a good fit. When she stayed with another foster she enjoyed being with another mini Aussie.
Miss Presley is currently in Huntsville, AL. If you think she is a good fit for you, please fill out the application:
