A handful of Saturday's ago, our FURcility was open to the public. We have two buildings and I was in the opposite one with some cats. We put a bell out to alert us if someone comes in, and the bell went off. I stopped what I was doing and walked over to see a woman holding a small cat in her arms, and the cat was pretty freaked out. I asked her how I could help her and she said she just witnessed a moving vehicle toss this little cat out of the door into one of North Platte's busiest streets. This woman stopped and saved the cat and brought her to us. I immediately grabbed a crate so we could secure the frantic cat.
We cannot by law take in strays, they have to go through the animal shelter, so I informed her on how to get her there and talked with her a bit more about what happened. In rescue, you get a whole lot of stories and tall tales and I am well versed to know fact from fiction at this point. The woman was telling the truth, which was so sad. Someone had actually thrown her from a moving vehicle with no regard to safety or how the cat would survive.
Thank God this Good Samaritan was in the right place at the right time to save her. This woman noted there was also another cat in the vehicle, but sadly we have no idea the fate of that one :(
Through some further investigation we learned a bit more to this story, but we aren't going to elaborate with that here, now.
We waited for the cat to go through the stray hold period at the Animal Shelter and of course, no one claimed her, so we pulled her for rescue to make sure she would have only the best from here on out. I'll never forget the look in her eyes when she was at out FURcility that day... So scared, frantic, confused. Those kind of things haunt me, even when we fix it for them. Her pain and fear will always be with me and I hope that because of that, she will never carry it with her.
On March 13th, Bumblebee, as we affectionately named her, arrived at our FURcility. She had to wait at the vet awhile before they could get her in for a spay, as they were booked. She was surprisingly not pregnant and we are so glad she didn't have to also endure all of that.. Although we do know she has had one litter in the past. :( Never again. Now, she is fully vetted and putting her best paw forward for the first time in her life.
We named her Bumblebee because of the street she was found on (B Street) and also - because it absolutely fits her! She is a busy, buzzy, fuzzy ray of sunshine! 🐝
Bumblebee has done absolutely awesome with us and is definitely ready to find a forever family to call her own. We cannot wait to find out who that will be and who will be graced with the enormous amount of love and fun that is our precious Baby Bumblebee!

🐝 Bumblebee is just a kitten. She's about 9 months old and all GO. She loves to explore, investigate and be a part of every day happenings. She will check out counters, window sills, etc. She isn't shy and thinks everything is there for her to check into!
🐝 Bumblebee loves a good hug and loves to be pet. She loves to snuggle on your lap and can't wait to sleep in a human bed at night with a family member.
🐝 Bumblebee is active and loves to play with toys. Loves wands and roundabouts. She likes catnip and loves little fuzzy balls. Anything fun, she's in :)
🐝 Bumblebee is just a ray of sunshine. She's young, fun, energetic, outgoing, spunky, sweet, affectionate and GRATEFUL.
🤸♀️ Bumblebee is great with kids.
🐈 Bumblebee is good with cats but very scared at first. She would do best with a laid back cat that will let her adjust at her own rate.
🐕 Bumblebee is good with dogs after a little time to warm up.
