My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi - I’m Lincoln.

Rumor has it that I was six - seven months old when I came in from a puppy mill, but the vet thinks I’m actually between one and two years old. I’m tiny – under 30 pounds – and I’m more the size of a Frenchie versus an English Bulldog, but I’m definitely the latter. After a multi-hour drive from the country I’m now in the city and working on getting fully healthy so I can find my family. I’m getting there; I’m already gotten over roundworm and giardia.

Since I’m so small you can easily pick me up, and I’ll try and bury my head in your shoulder. If you’re sitting on the couch I will try to find the spot where I can fit, whether that’s with my chin on your lap or my head behind your back or in the crook of you arm. Because I’m so small and adorable, when I’m on walks everyone stops to say hello. I’m still a little nervous around strangers, but I quickly warm up to them if they scratch behind my ears or on my butt. I’m not scared of new dogs either, but I prefer to ignore them at first until I can figure out how friendly they are. I do love my dog roommate though, and want to play with him and give him dog kisses every chance I get.

I’m really smart too. I love food and treats and am working on patience whenever I know food is being prepared for me, which I’m getting better at it. I’m an escape artist and will patiently test any fence, crate, or barrier that keeps me from cuddling with you. In fact I would rather cuddle with you than run around in the yard or outside – as soon as I’m done doing my business I just want to go straight back in to snooze next to you on the couch. I’m fine with longer walks but it’s just to be near to you.

My ideal home would be with some people that would let me hang out with them most of the day, with lots of sunlight – I love to snooze in the sun, and will wake up every hour or so to follow it across the floor. Dog brothers or sisters would be fun too, but I’d be fine being alone as well – more love for me. I really just want to be close to you as much as possible.

As soon as I’m fully healthy I’m looking forward to meeting my permanent home.
