My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Merlot is a pocket-sized pittie mix who’s just over a year old and came to the shelter as a stray. She apparently had a family before but had gotten out a few times. This last time she was found and brought to animal control but unfortunately, her owners didn’t come for her despite being an amazingly affectionate smart little girl.

She is also dog friendly and great with people. In fact, while at the shelter, she was known as a social butterfly because she greeted everyone with such happiness! She continues to live up to her reputation in her foster home by loving everyone she meets, especially her canine foster brother!

She is still very young though and needs to learn that she can be happy to see everyone without being jumpy. She would do best in an active home that will provide her with good exercise and lots of attention (probably without younger kids, just again because she needs some help in learning not to jump). Besides that, she is a huge love bug wrapped in a pocket-sized package!

She will give kisses for days and be the perfect snuggle buddy during movies or the perfect running or hiking buddy! She’s always ready for anything as long as she gets to be you! She’s especially excited if it involves her favorite games of fetch and tug, which she is awesome at!
