My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maggie is a beautiful, very sweet 4-year-old hound mix. Despite being abandoned by her family who she was adopted by as a puppy, she's adjusted well and not lost her love of life. This gorgeous pup enjoys going for walks, looking out the window, taking naps curled up in a ball and loves, LOVES, playing tug-of-war with her owners or foster-sister. Maggie gets along great with dogs and new visitors to her foster's house, giving out kisses to all of our friends and family who have come over to say hi. She also loves to cuddle up against you, sometimes under the blanket, when it's bed time.
She's easy to care for, so long as you make a couple of small adjustments for her. The new forever home will need to keep trash cans closed or out of reach, and close the lid to the toilet. And she will jump up to counters in the kitchen if no one is looking. Maggie also needs to be crated when left alone at home; she doesn't chew anything up, but will go potty in the house if scared or left too long. That said, she is potty trained and will whine when she needs to go out in order to let you know. We put her on a short leash attached to a stake in the ground in the backyard, and she'll normally spend anywhere from 2-10 minutes out there sniffing around and going potty. Her adoption fee is $300 which includes her spay, microchip implant, fecal exam, and shots up to date.

Please note:
All dogs require a $100 training deposit. Once confirmation of the completion of a training class has been sent to the rescue, you will receive your deposit back in full.

As we are a rescue all of our adult dogs/puppies for adoption must be spayed or neutered. Although we make every attempt to have this done before finding their adoptive families, this is not always possible. Please speak with your adoption coordinator to see of this service has already been performed or they will explain to you if your new dog/puppy will need this service while in your care at no cost to you.

When emailing please include your phone number to help speed up the adoption process. Also, for the safety of our dogs we only adopt within a 2 hour radius of Joliet, Illinois to allow our volunteers to do home checks if necessary.
