My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I'm Dubbie, a three and a half year old hunk, with acres of wrinkles topped by my noble block-head. My tail is going all the time and my snorts are the sweetest. I like to keep fit, I'm great on a leash, stairs up and down are a breeze, and I like a good growly wrestle with my dog buddies. I didn't spend much time with other dogs, but I'm good with my foster siblings and was a gentleman at the CEBR anniversary celebration. When I was brought into my previous family, they had a little girl that I loved very much- so I'm good with kids. I take treats gently, but may be clumsy too muscular with very small children. My absolute favorite thing to do is accidentally roll a ball under the sofa or coffee table and then go about a dramatic retrieval. Chewing is the best, and I need lots of options- balls, antlers, bully sticks, or murdering and de-stuffing squeakies are all fun. I also enjoy furniture, footwear and other home items, so you'll need to keep a close eye on me. Edges of furniture and cushions are my favorite. It's understandable that sometimes I need to be in a crate, but if you give me blankets (I don't chew those) and a water bowl, I can spend a few hours or sleep overnight there. I need a bit of help with my manners. I know sit and will usually come when called, but sometimes I can't help myself and put my paws up on tables and try to steal things. Really, I'm looking for cuddles, play, attention and being included in your life. Chest and belly rubs are the ticket to my heart. I'll even sit around and watch you scrub the floor just because I want to be near you.

Care:
Dry eye-- eye drops once a day, perhaps prescription ointment in the long run
keeping an eye out for yeast and bacteria in extra-deep paws--
Likes:
chewing
play-- he COULD get to fetch with a little work
walks
cuddles
seeing what the humans are up to
being outside and sniffing around
Dislikes:
vacuum cleaners
things that sound like vacuum cleaners
