Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Good Day from GUNNAR. He is new to WFTRM in Chicago and comes from a Nebraska Shelter. He looked like a Wire Fox Terrier or mix in his Shelter posting picture but surprise. Gunnar is BIG – weighing about 56 pounds and has this amazing gorgeous coat which is Wiry and coarse and tri-color. His tail is a thickly furred Poof style and his paws are big. What he is mixed with is a mystery – possibly Great Pyr, Husky, Lab or Collie. He has expressive big brown eyes and a super sweet face. Gunnar is a young boy only 2 years old and believes he is a lap dog and must snuggle with you. He is incredibly smart and mastered sit, speak, shake, high five and is very obedient. He listens to redirection and comes running when you call him. Gunnar loves to play and pilfers the toy basket with ones he can shake and hop around with. He play bows and has the best time and such a happy guy. Adores his people and being with them and patiently waits for his turn for affection and interaction. He does well on the leash until he sees a squirrel and then he can pull. Loves to go for walks and gets excited when you grab his leash and equally excited if he finds out he is going in the car. Gunnar is quiet, well mannered and house trained and is fine with other dogs. It appears he was adopted out as a puppy from this same Shelter and has been a frequent visitor for running off and being picked up. He would love a fenced yard where he could run and explore and does fine here with no intention of trying to break out. I believe he was on a tie out in his former home and that is no fun for any dog – especially a very smart one who figures out everything. Gunnar is a Nordic name which according to the Vikings means Brave and Bold. He went to the vet for exam and vaccinations and everyone loved him. He is healthy and happy and just a gorgeous dog and ready for someone to love him and be his everything.
