My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTER NEEDED

We are in search of a special foster for our very special boy Bernard. Bernard is a rottie mix. He came to us as a stray, found wandering the streets of Harrisburg. He was a very skinny fella and a bit unsure of himself. After providing Bernard lots of love and vet care, he was ready for adoption.

Unfortunately, we let him down. He was in the home for two hours, being stressed out and not able to decompress, he was pushed and there was a bite incident. The person sought medical treatment and said that she wanted to pursue dangerous dog charges. We are appealing these charges, but Bernard sits in his kennel day after day just waiting with no clue of what is going on. He is stressed and licking his leg to the point of sores. It breaks all of our hearts to see him in that condition. Bernard also suffers from allergies and is showing signs of hip dysplasia. All vet care would be covered by CRCPA.

Bernard needs a local family that understands the breed and willing to abide by a few stipulations. Bernard, or Big Bernie, or Nardi, as some of the volunteers call him, would love a quiet home without kitties or children and located in the country. Bernard is good with most dogs, so another canine may be okay.

Do you have room in your home and heart for our Big Bernie? If so, please email the pet placement team at adopt@crcpa.org or call 717-232-1644 and leave a message.
