My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Amelia is an 8 yr old medium haired dilute tortoiseshell who came to us from an Ocean Shores adoption partner several years ago after being abandoned in the foyer with a note about her needing medical attention. She came to us and got the needed medical care.

She didn't care much for any attention we tried to give her. We weren't sure if it was because of the other cats so she went to a foster home. The woman there said she was rather aloof but after a few weeks warmed up a bit. All interactions were on her terms. She would hop up on the bed or sofa but it was not an invitation for petting or attention. If she tried that Amelia would jump down and keep away for a couple of days. They lived together for a couple of months until the woman had to move. She was able to brush her twice she said.
She lived in another foster home. This time with a man. Same thing with him-always an armslength away a few chance encounters of snuck in pets. She started to not use the litterbox reliably and he sent her back to us.

Amelia will allow petting on her terms now that she is back at the Cattery. She is a cat to the core. Her new family will have to accept that she is calling all the shots and be okay with that.


As with all cats adopted through PAWS, Aileen has been spayed, seen by a vet, vaccinated-including rabies, flea treated, dewormed, and microchipped. Adoptions also include a free vet exam and gift certificates at local pet shops.
