Benson is an AKC Mini Schnauzer, just 7 yrs old and still playful and full of life. He is neutered, heartworm negative, on monthly prevention, UTD on all vaccines, rabies and he is microchipped. He was recently groomed as well.

So let Benson tell you about himself. Hi I'm Benson and I'm about 20lbs and love to watch TV, cuddle with you, ride in the car, and take walks. I'm really well trained. I know which toys to bring you when you ask for them by name, I know sit, stay, down, and I can ring a bell to go out but don't really need one. I also will do a few other tricks for my treats.. I love having my own toys.

I've always been in a low key home, my family was retired and it was just the 3 of us, so little kids make me very nervous. I don't like their fast movement or the noise they make.

I'm house and crate trained, but I never need a crate, I just enjoy my own space at times, although the sofa works well. Since I've always been the only kid until 2 yrs ago and my family got this Westie and she is a girl. Well she is just too much noise and all that playing. I did fine with her until my owner became ill. Once those folks called Hospice were there daily and then the grown kids showed up with their dogs too, it was more than I could handle. I would lay on the hospital bed with my owner each day and right before he passed, the nice nurse wanted me to move away and I growled, then snapped at her. She said I should be put to sleep.

But then my Mom was all upset when we lost Dad. I was on the sofa with her and they wanted me to get down and move, but the stranger in our house wasn't giving me the warm and fuzzies, so again I snapped when she touched me to get off the sofa. My Mom stepped in and I accidentally nipped her finger. And a few weeks before losing my Dad, I fought with my Westie sister a lot.

Did I mention my Mom is also sick, she takes these treatments, so she never feels good anymore. She had a talk with me to say I would be better off in a home that would be around the rest of my life, but that she and Dad loved me to the moon and back. She cried a lot and said she was sorry, but she was just too weak to care for me, whatever that meant. I just know I've had a lot of changes lately. My family was sick, lost my Dad, the human part of the family came and stayed longer than was comfortable for me, AND each of them brought these dogs with them, I could sense I was losing Dad and that lady said to move and get down. I just wanted to be with him, and I was when he passed. I was laying in his arms and on his chest. Mom as so upset too, she cried so much.

So here I am, with this nice rescue, looking for my permanent home. I'm really a great guy. I love to be loved on. But I'm also sad, I have no idea where I belong right now and when I'll get my new family. I would much prefer a low key, quiet home with no kids and I need to be your only true love. I'll give you the most unconditional love you will ever find. I'm very healthy and even had a dental not long ago.

If you're interested in adopting me PLEASE email my foster mom for an application. I so much need a sense of purpose and a place to call my own home. My foster Mom's email is:
