My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Merengue came to us on 2/22/2020 from Chicago AC. She was born about 2/22/13.

Imagine being left in a locked apartment for days with no one to care for you. Poor little Merengue was found by the landlord several days after her person moved out. As if that wasn't terrifying enough, she then ended up at Chicago Animal Care and Control.

Although she greeted our staff with eyes as big as saucers while at Chicago AC, she happily accepted the attention we gave her.

Merengue is still a bit nervous, but has settled in nicely at ADOPT and loves the attention from everyone she meets. She would probably adjust to another cat with a slow intro.

Merengue is very vocal whenever she is stressed but quiets down quickly when she feels comfortable.

After all she has been through, Merengue is deserving of a quiet, loving home.
