My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Roscoe
This handsome young boy, named Roscoe, is absolutely terrified. We don’t know what Roscoe’s background is, but we know it wasn’t good. We rescued Roscoe from a high kill shelter that was doing its best to save dogs before they were euthanized in order to create more space. Roscoe arrived on February 29, 2020.
We wish Roscoe understood that he’s safe now and no one will harm him anymore. Roscoe is getting to know our staff and volunteers and he’s beginning to trust them, but to others he doesn’t know, Roscoe trembles in his kennel unsure what to expect. It’s obvious he’s been abused, but Roscoe doesn’t lash out, he shies away and becomes paralyzed in fear. It’s absolutely heartbreaking.
Roscoe is thought to be a one-year-old Black-mouth Cur/Boxer mix. He weighs nearly 58 pounds. He has soulful eyes and a sweet smile when he looks at you. To those he trusts, he’s affectionate and sweet. And, he grows in confidence every day. He loves to lean on his person for protection. Roscoe walks well on a leash. He seems to love being with other dogs. He also seems good with cats when we tested him. Roscoe is super smart and he learns quickly. Roscoe has so much potential. We know he’s going to be a wonderful and loyal dog and will thrive with a patient and kind person.
If you’re able to open your heart and home to a wonderful dog, who just needs some TLC to help him shake his past trauma, come meet him. You might just be the person to help Roscoe feel safe and give him a second chance at a happy life.
