My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

* COURTESY POST FOR INDEPENDENT VOLUNTEER TRAPPER/FOSTER/ADOPTER:

Meet Scarlett O'Furr-a!

Scarlett is a BEAUTIFUL Brown Marbled Tabby on White (also called a Mackerel Tabby) with Gold Eyes and a quiet demeanor who is full of love. She sometimes looks like a watermelon from behind with her striking, distinctive striping! Scarlett absolutely loves attention & rubbing up against you for asking for pets. She will sit in your lap and show you how much she loves you by making muffins and purring. She is super sweet and loves to play with Da Bird wand toy. She is a silly girl and will do well on her own or with another kitty who is mellow and not "dominant". Scarlett was depressed for a few months after her brother & sister were adopted, understandably. She gets deeply bonded and wounded when she is left behind. We'd really like for her to go as a pair, with someone who already has another kitty or someone who works from home.

Her History: We met Scarlett when one neighbor in Azusa died & another neighbor took over feeding his large number of cats so they wouldn't starve. Unfortunately, the deceased had not fixed any of his cats, so they all began breeding and creating a huge neighborhood nuisance (of course!). One of our volunteers passed by animal control ticketing at this house and stopped to see if she could help. Animal control gave us one week to pull all the cats & kittens or they said they would come back to trap & euthanize them all. Talk about heartbreaking!!! We TNR'd over 30 cats from this corner and pulled 9 teenagers from the wreckage.... Scarlett was one.

Dogs: Not on her bucket list after coyotes ate half her colony....but might be ok once she's bonded with you.

Kids: They tend to move a little too fast in her book, so they would need to be a bit older. She lived across the street from a school where kids were not very nice to her.

Scarlett's Stats:
* Born: September 2015 (approx)
* Vaccinated
* Microchipped
* FELV/FIV Tested: Negative/Negative
* Litterbox Trained
* Littermates: Cola (Adopted)
Pepsi (Adopted)

Please help us share Scarlett with friends, family, social media & work buddies to help us find her a wonderful home who appreciates her like we do. All of our cats & kittens come directly from the streets where they are born or abandoned to. TNR (Trap.Neuter.Return) is the only humane way to stem the overpopulation of unwanted cats & kittens. Thank you for supporting what we do voluntarily on a weekly basis in the San Gabriel Valley after work. Join the TNR movement to help our shelters truly go "no-kill". Sterilize...Don't Euthanize!

Thank you for looking at Scarlett!
