My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Three years ago, on a dark and stormy July night, alone and terrified, a puppy was brought into our office well after hours. Nameless, neglected and suffering from illness, his tiny body trembled from fear and exhaustion. Little did he know that that night marked the very last time he would ever be nameless, neglected and left to suffer for any reason. The office occupant, aka Rescuer, quickly scooped him up, wrapped him in a warm towel and fought feverishly to convince his "family" to surrender him into her care because she just knew, without a doubt, that were this pup to leave the office, he would not survive. After much discussion, he was left in her possession without a backward glance and she rushed him to the vet. While waiting for treatment, she stared at the boy quietly snuggled in her arms and knew she first needed to give him a name, an identity of his very own. She sat there while the storm continue to rage outside until a name finally came to her: Jupiter.

Jupiter, god of the sky and thunder. Jupiter...a big name for such a little pup but she just knew he was capable of growing into it.

Jupiter may have spent the first eight weeks of his life meek and afraid but, from henceforth, she would teach him to be brave and strong! She would teach him to be steady! She would teach him to fulfill his destiny of growing into one of the very best boys to ever rule the planet! She would teach him about love, cuddles and nose boops! She would teach him all of the things that a young doggo his age needed to learn, like how to play tug-of-war and snuggle under warm blankets and give paw for treats and get kisses! She would teach him that not ALL humans were bad humans; that most of them would be happy to have him in their life and recognize how lucky they were to call him their own!

And so it was that Jupiter flourished into the adult dog he is today; loyal, strong, ridiculously smart. So, so smart....as in "you can really teach this dog to do anything" smart.

And so it has been...for three years. Despite being the very best boy around, who loves other dogs, loves all people and just loves life, Jupiter is STILL waiting for his forever family to come along and give him a home. He is STILL waiting for that person who, much like that Rescuer, will see him for the stunning being that he is, and will want to give him all the good things life has to offer.

He is STILL waiting...maybe this year will be the year his page will turn again and the next chapter of his life will finally begin.

Much like his planetary counterpart, Jupiter can be chaotic but in the very best way. He LOVES to be outside, scanning the yard for any furry intruders between naps in sunny spots on the deck. He LOVES to run from you while carrying a toy in his mouth as you chase after him. He LOVES to have his nose to the ground, sniffing out all of the good and bad scents around, like any good detective. He LOVES to pretend he's a teeny tiny dog that easily fits into your lap instead of the sixty pounder he actually is. He LOVES to "load up" and feel the wind on his face from the passenger seat of your car. He LOVES to drink water from the backyard hose. He LOVES to play with his friends at doggie day care, come home and then crash on the couch to recharge. Jupiter just...LOVES.
