Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hopefully my sad story will have a happy ending. Recently I found myself in a local shelter and even though my owner knew I was a there, they decided they didn't want me anymore so they never came to get me. I spent almost two months in a kennel and boy did I miss my family -- I had lived with them since I was a puppy after all! The shelter staff were very nice to me and they cared for my health the best they could with the limited resources they had. You see, I've had a lifelong condition that effects the way I move my mouth so it makes drinking and eating a challenge sometimes. I don't mean to get some of the water and food on the floor, but I try as hard as possible not to with the limited control of my jaw muscles. But don't worry, I'm not in pain and I'm actually alot happier now that I'm in foster care and in a nice warm indoor environment. In fact, the vet has given me a clean bill of health aside from this, and with plenty of tender loving care I will live many more years to come. I am about 3 years young (born January 20, 2001) and at a healthy weight would be about 40 to 45 pounds. Right now I'm a little underweight, but I'm working on that! I am very gentle and affectionate, with an even activity level to go with my established adult personality. My ideal home will be with a kind, caring person with the patience to understand that my condition requires special attention to my diet. Most imprtantly, I'm just an all-around wonderful dog who needs a second chance at a lifelong home where I will be a cherished member of the family.
If you're thinking that you and I would make a great match, please contact my foster parents via e-mail or by phone at (619) 405-7942 today for more information on adopting me!
