During the state mandated shelter-in-place order BACS has transitioned to virtual, socially-distanced adoptions.
If you have an interest in a particular BACS animal, please email KSwanson@cityofberkeley.info. The first step will be to set up a virtual meeting with their current foster family via phone, zoom, or facetime, to provide you with more detailed information about the animal. Following that, if you feel like it could be a good adoption fit, shelter staff will help coordinate a socially-distanced meeting in person so that you can meet your potential family member up-close and personal. Meet Muffin — a confident, active girl, full of swagger, spunk, and sass. She loves to play tug and will eagerly demonstrate how to remove the squeaker from any toy you set in front of her. Agile and quick, she adores her walks and will go for miles, surveying the surroundings like she owns the neighborhood. Back at home, she’ll turn on the charm with solicitations for snuggles and belly rubs. Because Muffin can be a bit of a bossy-pants, we believe dogs slightly larger than her would make for her best canine matches. She can be a bit sensitive with her handling, so we’re recommending a home without children under 12.
