Axel, like all of Corridor Rescue's dogs, had a rough start in life. But it all changed in an instant when his "owner" threw him out a car window right in front of a staff member's car. The staff member was able to scoop him up and bring him to the kennel immediately.

Axel was bruised, but most notably, very underweight. He weighed less than 40 pounds on admit, but is now up to a healthy 54.

Axel is a sweet guy. He's a little shy in the beginning, but does warm up. He is housetrained, good on a leash, and knows "sit" and "shake".

He is an independent dog, however, and likes to keep you close, but won't be cuddling with you on the couch. At least not on a regular basis.

If a smart, independent dog is what you're looking for, then look no further!

Axel is dog selective. He has a doggie friend at the kennel, but would likely be best suited as the only pet in the home. If you already have a dog, a meet 'n' greet is a must.
