Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Chance! He is about 2 years old and came to PLP after he was thrown out of a moving car into a wooded area A Good Samaritan took him in. She had him checked out and started his vetting and he was neutered. Since he was given a second chance, she named him Chance. Chance lived with his rescuer and her 3 dogs and got along with all of them but because he was not getting the attention he needed, she contacted PLP to help her find him a forever home. His current foster describes him as a giant teddy bear. He is very playful and loves his chew toys. When playing fetch he will bring the ball to you, pretend to drop it, but then quickly steal it back. He thinks it’s funny! He is very gentle when playing and is also great in his crate-he never cries or fusses as long as he has a bone to chew or a toy to keep him busy. He is potty trained but you have to watch him to give you a sign when he needs to go. He does go for long walks but because there are so many distractions he forgets to go potty so you will have to find a quiet place for him to go and that place will be his forever, so choose it wisely, encourage him and be patient. Chance does have some anxiety and fear of people, since we don’t know his history we can only read from his behavior which says that he most likely was abused or punished a lot. He is timid and scared of new people which makes him react in the only way he knows: he barks when first introduced, so it needs to be done properly. He is also scared of loud noises and does not like getting in a car. After he learns to trust and bonds with you, that fear should fade away. He is a great guard dog so if you live in a busy area or apartment, be prepared for some barking as he lets everyone know there is a new Sheriff in town! We are currently trying to locate a local trainer who can help work with this boy. Our expectation would be that his adopter continue that process. If you have patience and experience, please give this boy a chance! Approved application, home visit, and adoption fee of $225 is required. He is located in Myrtle Beach, SC.
