My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oreo is a still a puppy with great exuberance as well as an ample amount of intelligence. This cutie pie is currently 38 lbs and still has some growing to do. We do not know his exact mix, but we’re going to label him as a Cattle Dog/Border Collie/Retriever – such a great combination!

He plays great with other dogs (check out his video) and he loves to snuggle and cuddle. Did we mention that he loves to snuggle and cuddle? In case you are wondering, he loves to snuggle and cuddle. He really, really does. In fact, Oreo will get on your lap whenever he can…so he could use a few lessons in personal space. Although we think you’ll agree that those are the best lessons to teach a dog.

We’ve discovered Oreo can be mouthy and he needs some general training but he should pick up things quickly. Oreo is usually very confident when being introduced to new stimuli, but right now he’s experiencing a lot of new sights and sounds after being transported to Los Angeles and going into a new foster home where he has barked at these things: strangers, stuffed animals, and the people and animals on T.V. We have much more to learn about him and we imagine this barking will subside as he settles into the ebb and flow of his foster home. For right now we can share that he is happy, healthy, energetic, loving, and crate-trained (and loves to snuggle and cuddle).

3/8/2020 update: Oreo has learned down, sit, stay, fetch (he brings the ball back), and leash walking in his foster home!
