Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This
is Stitch! Stitch is a 70 pound, 7 year old lab/husky mix with a soft golden coat and dark soulful eyes.
Stitch
and his brother were introduced to the Happy Tails team when their owner developed allergies and could no longer care for them. This was tough on the boys, and though they had each other, there was a scrap between them and for each of their safety they were
separated. Stitch misses his family and has been pretty depressed without his brother but he’s been adjusting, first at a farm-shelter and currently with a new foster family.
Is
Stitch right for you?
Needs some
good exercise,
at least two good walks a day and as much outdoors time as possible
Aside from that, he’s a
cuddly couch potato
He loves to snuggle in bed
and he’s the best sleeping buddy,
he’ll never step on you or wake you when he gets up for a drink of water
Doesn’t love
baths
but very politely accepts being washed
He is a
polite
boy! He’ll wait for you to walk out a door first and behave generally like a true gentleman
He needs to be on a
leash
or he may scamper off until some trust builds between you and him
Very
kid friendly!
Introduce him slowly and ask the little ones to respect his space, but he’s been an angel to his foster parents 5 year old niece and came from a family with children
He’s still
adapting
so you can expect some whining, a bit of jumpiness, and some howling here and there
Regarding
other dogs
he has a bit of a history. Walking him by other dogs, he’ll tug and bark (tail wagging and
happy but he is a big boy...); he’s slowly learning every day with his foster family. If you have other pets, you may want to try a trial period and introduce them slowly.
Happiest with regular
company,
so he shouldn’t be alone for extended periods until he’s used to a strong routine
He’s fully potty
trained
and follows basic commands
Don’t break this boy’s heart,
if you decide to adopt him, make it his forever home!
He is sweet and full of love and needs the same!
