Here's what the humans have to say about me:
COURTESY POST
Hi! My name is Bisbee (I also answer to Blue). I am a 2 ½ year old male 60-lb. blue merle Australian shepherd who was surrendered by a family who let me wander around the countryside for a year and then kept me in an 8-foot pen for the last six months, even in cold, rainy weather. A neighbor who had fallen in love with me and wanted me to have a better life took me to Norman, where I am living with my foster family. I have never been indoors before, so everything is new: my reflection in the mirror, doors, the sounds of the icemaker, sleeping in bed with humans (which I love).
Despite my poor start in life, I am really sweet and very smart. I picked up house training quickly—I only had two accidents and am already fully trained. I am great on leash—I don’t like to pull. Because I’m not dominant, I get along well with the chocolate lab and border collie at my new home and will likely be good with children, because I fell in love with a 9-month-old baby at the vet’s office. I gave her a lot of kisses (I give everyone kisses once I get to know them).
Because of my background, I like to roam, so I need a fenced backyard and a family committed to training me so I’ll be safe. I chased my foster family’s horses (I don’t need to herd people or other dogs, but the horses were irresistible.) so maybe a home without horses would be best. I do have some separation anxiety so someone that works from home or is home a lot of the time would b e perfect for me.
I have been neutered and microchipped, my shots are all up to date, and I am healthy and energetic. Even though I have a lot to learn, I deserve a forever home, because I am a good dog who was neglected for far too long.
if you think I am a good match, please email Ruth,at: prbrelsford@gmail.com
