My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bisque is a Domestic Short Hair (DSH), female, DOB: 7/14/19.

Seeking approval from a gentle touch and soft-spoken words, Bisque revels in being close to people and will choose loving interaction with her people over just about any other activity. That’s not to say she doesn’t enjoy playtime and adventurous exploration on her own and with other kittens – she certainly does, and vigorous, sometimes ruff-n-tumble play sessions will need to be a box-checked on her daily activity agenda.

Bisque is pretty calm too, while being sweetly affectionate and gentle, she loves receiving attention from her favorite people. Bisque also enjoys exploring on her own where she will prowl, stalk, and pounce upon lurking shadows and dust bunnies (and sometimes unaware siblings). Bisque appreciates her toys and playtime too – both interactive and playtime.

Bisque along with siblings, Risotto, Potluck, Gnocchi, and Casserole, were all born to Kitty Pryde, a young, inexperienced, and not very social mom who came to us pregnant from Monroe County Animal Control. Gnocchi and her feline family members have received preventative treatments for fleas, worms, and other intestinal parasites.

A healthy, happy, and cautiously friendly kitten, Bisque is looking for a forever family who’s willing to give her the time and attention a kitten needs to grow into a social and confident young cat. We recommend a paired-adoption with one of her littermates, although a pairing with several of our other kittens having compatible personalities and temperament might also be a good fit.

Bisque is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a calm, low-active to moderately active lifestyle and no active young children under the age of six (6). She is comfortable with other compatible cats and kittens, and she’ll be comfortable in the presence of well-mannered, cat-friendly dogs after being given some adjustment time to warm-up and settle into her new surroundings. As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable animals, a home visit and a meet-n-greet with any housemate pets will be required prior to adoption.

Bisque currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store. You can meet her Tuesday – Thursday, 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm; Friday and Saturday, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm; or by appointment; closed Sunday, Monday, and National Holidays. To start the adoption process for Potluck, complete and submit Monroe SPCA’s adoption application linked above.

All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $85.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed, tested for FeLV and FIV, and microchipped with lifelong registration prior to adoption.

Completed applications can be emailed to info@monroespca.org or dropped off at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store located at 293 W. Monroe Street, Dundee, MI.
