Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Please say hello to Texas Winter, aka Winnie. Winnie is an outgoing and assertive girl and she is very affectionate. She is spayed, current on immunizations and on preventatives. Winnie is great at meeting new people as long as it is in a calm and polite manner. When frustrated or overly excited, she will get mouthy to other dogs or people, but is quickly & easily corrected when given clear verbal cue. She does well with men, women and children over 12. She is selective about dogs and is not good with small animals due to a high prey drive which is in her DNA. Winnie is an energetic and active girl and needs an active household. She would do great in herding, agility or other activities. Like most Aussies, she requires mental stimulation and physical activity every day. Winnie has a strong toy drive and is protective of her food. She is crate trained and house broken. She knows her basic commands such as sit, stay, down and recall. She is currently being fostered with a trainer who is working on her impulse/ behavior.
Note from trainer: Texas Winter is a young, energetic, & intelligent girl. Her ideal home would include active family members who want to spend quality time (15 minutes each day, 4 days per week minimum) going through basic commands, behaviors, & teaching tricks. She needs an experienced family that will provide her with sufficient structure & stimulation to keep her calm & happy. Texas Winter requires a hands-on family that will keep her training going to intermediate and/or advanced levels. Texas Winter is a working, herding dog that has a strong work drive.
