Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Franklin is a happy, playful, energetic 7 mo old neutered boy who just wants to be everyone's friend. Found as a stray in Rural Ky, at a shelter for 3 weeks, he arrived full of exuberance! He just wanted to run, be close to his humans, and run some more. He loves other dogs, is still learning good dog manners but listens well when other dogs have had enough of his love. He is surprisingly good on a leash. Franklin weighs 51 lbs currently but is still growing. He was recently neutered which we expect will slightly lower his energy level....maybe! He does not like a crate. He has a very unique raspy higher pitched bark and will bark if not exhausted when going in. We are working on this currently and since he only just arrived we expect he will learn to see his crate as his own personal den. Right now we think he is afraid if his humans go out of sight they will never come back again. He really loves other dogs and must be placed in a home with at least one buddy for him. They must be his size or larger and also love to play. He was madly in love with the pregnant 40 lb female who came from his shelter, would kiss her on the mouth and rub on her like a cat. We think he would be happiest another dog who likes to snuggle too. Franklin is all love, no aggression but in his exuberance he could knock over and overwhelm a small child. We think he would do best with kids 8+, younger if they are larger kids. This guy deserves to live out his short puppy times with his forever family, and with his plush medium coat, and big ole kisses he is like a big ole teddy bear. We hope you will take him to basic obedience training, and even farther if he is lucky. He wants to please but will need to learn from you how to do that. Franklin is ready to go home and has been neutered, has his rabies and other vaccinations up to date, been dewormed, microchipped, given heartworm preventative and flea/tick preventative. All of our dogs are expected to be primarily indoor dogs, living with their families in their homes. We provide free transportation to adoptive families if they live more than 3 hours away. arrowdogrescue@gmail.com
