Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hanzel is about 8 -9 years old. He came back to the shelter after his owner could no longer keep him. Hanzel doesn't see very well any more, but he gets around just fine once he knows the layout of the house and yard. He loves curling up in his bed and taking naps when he isn't snuggling with people. Hanzel does let you know when he wants to be fed and will bark until you feed him. A funny boy who just wants to be loved and fed.
Hanzel is a LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY (within 1 hour of LP).
Adoption Requirements -Completed adoption application -Payment of the adoption fee (Fee will be held for 7 days.) -Fenced in yard for anyone adopting a dog. An underground fence is not considered a fence. -If adopting a cat, the adopter must agree that the cat will stay indoors all the time as all of our cats are strictly inside cats. -Personal Reference -Veterinarian Reference -All dogs and cats in the household must be spayed/neutered -Home visit -If renting, a copy of the Landlord/Lease Agreement stating that pets are allowed, what type of pets, size of pets are allowed and how many pets allowed. If a pet deposit is required, proof that the deposit has been paid is also required.
Everyone who volunteers at the shelter works full time and it takes us 3 - 5 business days (Monday - Friday days) to process applications. The volunteers have to fit the calls in during their lunch break and breaks (and sometimes we cannot take breaks during one of those days). Not all of the time do we get the personal reference or the veterinarian the first time. They may be busy and ask us to call back.
Please be patient and understand that we all do this as a labor of love and do not get paid, including the director, for doing what we do.
Priority will be given to local adoption applications. Rarely do we adopt out to anyone in another state unless it is just over the state line like Missouri or Oklahoma is from us (about 50 - 60 miles or within a 1 hour drive). With the small, prissy dogs, because we receive so many applications, we will not be adopting out of state. NOTE: Adoptions are not done on a first come, first served basis. Several applications may be taken and processed before an animal gets adopted. This is especially true on the small dogs. Our goal is to find the best home for the animals in our care. Thank you for your understanding. We would be happy to mail, fax or e-mail our application to interested parties.
Adoption Fees Dogs - $60.00; $75.00, if 25 pounds or under; and $100.00, regardless of size, if the animal is a pure breed.
Cats - $50.00 or $65 if they have been FIV/FELV tested.
Adoption fee includes spaying/neutering, all or some of the shots, and micro chipping. NOTE: There are times that Adoption Fees are more than what is shown here because of special circumstances such as we had to pay to rescue the animal to save it or it needed a lot of veterinary care. The Adoption Fee will be shown in the animal's bio.
