Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Polly is so excited to be searching for her forever home!
Polly might be our oldest lady, but don't let that fool you. She is 7 Years old and a Chow Chow mix! She is even DNA tested to prove it. She might be a senior citizen, but she has the heart of a puppy. She adores playing with toys SO much and loves playing with toys with other dogs.
Polly wasn't our typical pull, but we wouldn't change having her for the world. She came from a boarding facility near Birmingham, AL where she had been waiting for someone to adopt her for FIVE years.... yes five years. We couldn't let her stay there one more day as her face greyed with age.
Polly's foster describes her as, "Polly is such a fantastic, versatile dog. She is so happy to be playing and running around with you, but she is mature enough to know when it’s time to relax and nap and is so happy to be chilling next to me while I binge watch the bachelor (she thinks Pete is making a lot of mistakes, I appreciate her commentary). Polly is incredibly smart, fun-loving, and is absolutely desperate to give you her love. She wants to be your protector, so she can be a bit of an alarm barker when she meets people, but she’s great once she gets some reassuring pets that no one has come to kidnap you! She also appears to prefer male dogs that are around her size, because she can be a bit pushy with smaller dogs and female dogs. But overall she has been such an easy foster dog and she’s looking for someone who wants a hiking buddy and a snuggle buddy all in one!”
Polly is both crate trained and potty trained, when on a schedule! She is good with other dogs but prefers other male dogs her size. She has not been tested around cats. We also recommend she goes to a home with kids that are 12+ becasue she can get nervous around a lot of chaos. She is UTD on her shots, spayed, dewormed and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $125.
Polly is located in Auburn, Al. If you are interested in adopting Polly, the application is here: https://forms.gle/Scpyw81TNDLhUQ5G7. Please allow 3-5 business days for us to respond to your application, due to us being full-time students as well as a rescue organization.
